Instructions
Step 1 – Prep Veggies
Let’s start with my favorite which I hope is also your favorite, and that’s prepping the veggies by slicing them up. If you throw on some music and set the mood right, you will see that cutting up these veggies is quite the party.
Start with slicing the bell peppers in thin, rectangular pieces, think French fry, but don’t start craving those, we’re working on something better here.
Grab your onion and slice those in halves after cutting your onion in half which should look like a circle.
If you love your fajitas extra spicy, add some jalapeños slices and if you’re like me and want that extra fire, throw in some sliced Serrano.
Not only will it add a mouthwatering teary eye spice to the meal, but it also enhances a flavor that is delicoso!
Step 2- Slice Chicken
Slice your chicken into thin strips. Some prefer the square cut, which you can do, but I just think it’s more festive for the veggies and chicken to match in their rectangular shape.
Step 3 – Mix All The Ingredients
Now, what I like to do is grab a big bowl, throw everything into it and grab your spices.
Add your spices one by one, or your fajita seasoning packet, I recommend the Lawry’s Chicken Fajita mix if you go that route.
Then add about a tablespoon of canola oil or whichever cooking oil is more of your preference and give it a big mix making sure that everything is well coated.
Step 4 – Air Fry Fajitas
Grab your air-fryer and toss in those fajitas with veggies in there. Mix them all around and make sure they take up all the room inside.
Should you overcrowd everything, just make sure to constantly mix. Most Air-Fryers let you open the basket, then close it and the time continues.
Air Fryer Temperature and Time: Air Fry at 390°F (200°C) for 15-18 minutes shaking the basket halfway through.
Depending on the amount that you have made, the thickness of your chicken, veggies and model of your Air Fryer, the cooking time may be dependent on those things.
Please see the following guide below for better temperature and cooking instructions based on the Air Fryer brand that you have.
How To Know If the Chicken Is Cooked
If you’re like me and must check the chicken’s temperature to make sure it’s cooked thoroughly, place a Thermarator in the chicken, it should read 165°C for a fully cooked chicken.
Once it has reached 165°C (75°C), your chicken is fully cooked, and you are just about ready to serve and eat.
Modifications and Substitutions
One of the best things about cooking with an Air Fryer is that you can cook frozen chicken. While it may be a bit difficult to slice the chicken in thin pieces and mix well with the veggies, it is doable.
Also, if you have any leftovers and want to heat the fajitas later, freeze them and just pop them back in the Air-Fryer.
Frozen fajitas can last months if sealed and stored correctly in your freezer. Temperature and cooking times may change, please see the chart below for further instructions.
If you prefer to have beef fajitas, please follow the steps, as substituting beef requires the same prep and cooking time.
If you prefer shrimp fajitas, follow the same steps, but the cooking time will change as shrimp cook faster than chicken and beef.
Shrimp will be cooked in half the time so cut your cooking time in half, still keeping it at the same temperate.
Dietary Options
Use Gluten-Free Tortilla Bread instead of regular corn tortillas
If you are following a keto or low-carb diet, you can make a fajita bowl that does not include tortillas.
How To Serve Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas?
While Fajitas are tasty on their own, let’s face it, they deserve a presentation, and your belly deserves a fiesta.
If you feel the same and have already prepared some rice and beans, you are on fire and you know how to treat yourself and loved ones with this meal.
I recommend Spanish rice and pinto beans, but of course you can serve any rice and beans that you wish, Afterall it is your dish.
Adding some garnish also is great! I love Pico De Gallo with my Fajitas so that would not only look fantastic on a plate, but extra flavoring never hurts. You can also top some Guacamole and Crema. Yummy!
Lime juice goes great with fajitas, so dazzle some juice over those sizzling fajitas and use to your liking.
Once you serve your plate, sit down, and enjoy, you’ve earned it!
Don’t forget to take a picture and post it to your social media so you can impress your friends on a job well done and get their cravings up. Who knows, they may even ask you to cater their next party.

Now That You’ve Enjoyed Your Air-Fryer Fajitas
What did you think? Pretty good right! Who would have thought that air-fryer fajitas would be this good and so enjoyable?
Not only are they easy to make and take less time than standing in front of your stove constantly mixing the fajitas, but they taste even better if you ask me. While fajitas are made many ways, I think an air-fryer is the way to go.
I mean they were invented to not only make our lives easier and to create healthier meals with their no oil use, but meals come out pretty darn good!
What else are we going to make next in the Air-Fryer?

My name is Keren Tayler. I am a stay-at-home mama to three lovely girls, Sarah + Rachel + Hannah. Prior to becoming a mom, I had a successful career in the accounting field, steps away from becoming a CPA. I decided to give up on my career in order to raise my own kids (as opposed to letting a nanny do it, no judgment here :)) I learned a lot and I love sharing it with other moms. Along the way, I also became a Certified Food Handler.
