5 Best Stackable Pots and Pans

It’s no secret that most of us have a stack of pots and pans somewhere. This stack is probably teetering on a rack or under a cabinet just waiting to fall over.

It’s a problem that anybody who has ever been in a kitchen knows about. You pull one pan out and the rest sit unevenly waiting to be stacked properly again.

One would think that somebody would come up with a solution to this issue. Wait a minute, somebody already has!

The invention of stackable pots and pans has changed kitchen organization for the better. These pots and pans come in various sizes, shapes, coatings, and colors.

We’ve personally researched dozens of these stackable pots and pans sets and came up with a comprehensive guide aimed to show you which are the best.

Overall, We chose the T-Fal pots & pans because even though they don’t save as much space as other sets, they are more durable and have a reputation for lasting longer than most.

What Are Stackable Pots and Pans?

Stackable pots and pans are like normal pots and pans, but they can be nested into each other. This means that they can be placed inside of one another to stack evenly to avoid toppling over.

They’re meant to save space in your cabinets and are especially helpful if you are limited as to how much you can store in your kitchen.

Some types of stackable pots and pans can stack evenly inside of each other whereas others will stack just pots or just pans into two separate groups. The type you choose will solely depend on how much cabinet space you actually have.

How to Choose the Best Stackable Pots And Pans

As previously mentioned, there are a variety of stackable pots and pans on the market. Some are better than others and some have more value than others. Let’s take a look at how to choose the best stackable pots and pans.

Design

Naturally, the design would be a major consideration. If you have small cabinets, look for a set that stacks completely. The ones with removable handles and flat lids are the best for maximizing space-saving capabilities.

On the other hand, if you need an effective cooking set that also helps save space, consider a set that stacks neatly rather than completely.

The pots and pans with riveted handles and regular lids offer better security and a more comfortable grip when cooking than removable handles would.

Lastly, make sure the stackable pots and pans don’t cause scratches on each other, especially the nonstick ones. If there’s a secure lock on the set, this will help keep the pots and pans from moving and causing damage.

Performance

Not only should the set save space, but it should be effective. Pots and pans with good conductive material and constriction will be good results when cooked on like a normal-sized set.

Non-Stick Quality

When choosing stackable pots and pans set, it’s important to consider its non-stick quality. The coating should be stronger than what’s on individual pieces that aren’t being stacked.

Stackable pots and pans are more likely to be scratched by nesting. This is why you need to choose cookware with premium and strong non-stick coatings.

Weight

A large pot is heavy enough as it is, so when you get four or five pots that are all stacked together, it can be difficult to get the biggest pot off the bottom while lifting the others.

This doesn’t necessarily mean you have to purchase a flimsy set. You should opt for a set that’s medium weight and not too heavy to lift when necessary.

What We Like

High-Quality Materials

One reason the T-Fal Stackable Cookware set stood out to us was because of its durable materials.

They’re made from anodized aluminum that heats quickly and silicone handles that can withstand temperatures up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Furthermore, they use Thermospot technology with a built-in ring that turns red when it’s ready for cooking.

Material: Titanium & anodized aluminum

Non-Stick Coating

The non-stick coating is a combination of materials that includes titanium. This offers reinforcement and is practically scratch-resistant. It’s not scratch-proof, but it certainly handles different types of cooking utensils.

T-Fal Stackable Cookware

Stackable

These pots and pans save up to 45% more space by fitting into one another. The specially designed lids fit perfectly over the pan so you can move it from the stove right to the refrigerator.

What We Don’t Like

Not Quite Dishwasher Safe

These pots and pans have to be washed by hand because the dishwasher could dry out the non-stick surface and reduce the quality of the pan. Some may find this inconvenient.

Faulty Handles

The pans have riveted handles that may come loose after continuous usage.

  • SAFE STORAGE: Unique anti-scratch nesting design protects pots and pans during storage by suspending them with specially-designed stacking handles.
  • COMFORTABLE HANDLES: Cast stainless steel handles are ergonomically designed for comfort and double-riveted for strength and maneuverability. Longer pan handles stay cool on the stovetop for safe cooking.
  • STOVETOP-TO-OVEN: Pots and pans are both oven safe up to 500°F, so you can bake like cast iron. Lids are oven safe up to 400°F.
  • HEATS EVENLY: Durable forged aluminum design enables quick and even heat distribution for perfect results every time. Made with 30% more aluminum than the Ninja Foodi NeverStick Essential C100 series.

What We Like

Exceedingly High Non-Stick Temperature

The NInja Foodie NeverStick pots and pans have an unbelievably high non-stick temperature strength of 30,000 degrees Fahrenheit. This ensures the coating lasts a while whereas other non-stick pots and pans are only produced at a temperature of 900 degrees Fahrenheit.

Warranty:  10-year limited warranty

Sturdy Material

The material used to make this set is cold-forged anodized aluminum. The handles are made from steel and are dual-riveted to the pan for optimal strength, control, and grip. The steel handles don’t overheat during cooking either.

Space-Saving

These pots, pans, and lids are stackable to create a more organized look in your kitchen. They take up 55% less space and can be stored in even the tightest spaces. These would work well in a camper or small kitchen as well.

Durable Non-Stick Coating

Since the coating is strengthened and durable, you can safely use metal utensils. These won’t scratch the non-stick coating. We don’t care for plastic or rubber utensils, so the fact that you can use metal ones makes us like the set even more.

Material: Stainless steel & anodized aluminum

What We Don’t Like

No Vent Holes

The unfortunate thing about the lids is that they don’t offer a vent hole to release the steam inside the pot or pan. This means that when you lift the lid, your face will get hit with a ball of steam.

Hot Handles

Since the handles are steel and not rubberized, they will get hot when in the oven.

3.Calphalon Premier 10-Piece Stackable Set

Last up is the Calphalon Premier 10-Piece Stackable Set. We chose this set because it offers 30% more storage space and heats quickly and evenly.

Calphalon Premier 10-Piece Stackable Set

What We Like

Ultra-Durable

This pots and pans set has a durable three-layer non-stick coating that lasts quite a while.

It consists of a hard-anodized aluminum exterior and is made with a thicker gauge material that’s more resistant to denting, scratching, and warping.

Even the lids are durable. They’re made with tempered glass with easily graspable side handles for ideal space-saving and stacking.

Flat Lids

The flat lids are much different than most others on the market. Since they’re flat, they’re easy for space-saving and stacking. The lids don’t have strange handles on the top of them, rather, they’re on the sides.

Hot, but Cool

This cookware is safe up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit in the oven. This is a high number, but the tempered glass lids and stainless steel handles remain cool while cooking. There’s no need to use oven mitts to remove lids or move pots and pans around.

What We Don’t Like

They’re Heavy

The unfortunate thing about this set is that since the pots and pans are so large with a sturdy build, they’re heavy. When you try to take out a pot to use or sort the stack after cleaning, it could be a struggle.

Induction Incompatible

You can’t use these pots and pans on induction stovetops.

4.Granitestone Stackmaster

We chose the Granitestone Stackmaster for our list because even though it’s not for large families, its stacking abilities are on point and the coating will never scratch.

What We Like

Superior Durability

The Granitestone Stackmaster 10-piece granite coated and diamond dust stackable set is specially designed to be stacked on top of one another without scraping the coating. Scraping is a major issue that comes with stackable pots and pans and you can rest assured knowing these will withstand stacking and restacking.

Space-Saving

The pan sizes are great for cooking modest amounts of food. What we really like about this set is that the lids can be used interchangeably on both the pots and pans and they’ve been modeled to fit over each other.

High-Quality Non-Stick Coating

The quality of the non-stick coating is. Food easily slides out of them and can even withstand the use of a metal spatula without suffering scratches. It’s fantastic for any type of food that may be prone to sticking.

What We Don’t Like

Not Ideal For Large Families

Even though this set saves a ton of space, the pots and pans are rather small and more suited for smaller families.

Tough to Clean Handles

Even though food can easily be cleaned with a quick swipe of a sponge, the rims on the lids are harder to clean because the food may be harder to reach.

5.Gotham Steel Stackmaster Pots and Pans

We like the Gotham Steel Stackmaster Pots and Pans because they save 30% more space and have a 3x coated non-stick cooking surface.

What We Like

Ultra Non-Stick

The non-stick ceramic coating on these pots and pans is coated 3x and reinforced with ceramic and titanium. They can resist scratches from metal utensils.

You don’t even need to use oil or butter, so it makes for much healthier eating. Not only that, but the set is free of PFOA, PFOS, lead, and cadmium. This adds to the healthier cooking experience.

Space-Saving

As already mentioned, this set saves up to 30% more space and helps easily organize your kitchen cabinets. Our favorite feature is the lids. They are interchangeable and fit even if you mix them up by mistake.

Heat Resilience

These pots and pans are great for high heat cooking. They have a temperature endurance of up to 550 degrees Fahrenheit and the stainless steel handles won’t warp or bend.

The forked handles help disperse the heat and will remain cool during cooking. Additionally, the bottom of the pans are induction burner-safe and heat up quickly.

What We Don’t Like

Hot Lid Handle

According to many user reviews, the lid handle gets way too hot to touch and the use of an oven mitt is needed.

Not Compatible With Condiction Cooktops

If you have a flat top range, you won’t be able to use this cookware because they’re simply not compatible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Non-Stick Pots and Pans Be Stacked?

Unless the manufacturer specifically states that the pots and pans can’t be stacked, then you can assume they can.

It’s good practice to put some type of cushion or paper plate between each one to keep them from scratching. Most pans today are made so that they are “scratch-resistant”.

Does material matter?

Not really. If the manufacturer is making the pots and pans specifically to be stacked, then material won’t matter unless they say there should be cushioning between them.

However, we found that the ceramic or titanium pots and pans were better for stacking as opposed to stainless steel or anodized steel.

Are Hexclad pans stackable?

We didn’t review this brand because they weren’t on our radar as one of the best, but yes, Hexclad pans are stackable.

Are there stackable pots and pans that have removable handles?

As far as we can see, there are no stackable pots and pans sets with removable handles. However, you can purchase separate pots or pans that do have a removable handle for better storage.

Can pots and pans be stored under the sink?

We don’t recommend storing pots and pans under the sink due to the exposure to bacteria and mold. If your faucet is leaking, it can cause water splatter that may corrode your cookware.

The Takeaway

Since we’ve supplied you with a comprehensive review of a variety of stackable pots and pans sets, you should have no problem choosing the best one for your kitchen. The ones we reviewed above were ones that we thought would withstand most environments and hold up to even the toughest kitchen tasks.
