This recipe is so easy you will make it on repeat throughout the week. It comes together quickly and is fun to make with the kids.
Start by making the dough. To activate the yeast combine water, yeast, and honey in a cup. Stir well to combine and set aside in a warm place.
Add the yeast to the flour in a stand-up mixer. Then add the olive oil and salt to it. Knead on medium for about a minute or two.
Place the dough knots on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Let the dough double in size one more time left in the same spot as before. This time it won’t take as long but depending on the temperature in your kitchen, it might take up to an hour or two.
Once the dough knots are doubled in size, grease the bottom of your air fryer with non-stick spray and place the dough knots in it with enough space in between them. You might have to work in batches.
Depending on how big the air fryer is, you can fit up to 5 knots in the container. Keep in mind that they expand when cooking so it is important that there is some space between them and they don’t stick to each other.
In a mixing bowl combine the softened butter, parsley, garlic, and lemon zest. Add the salt and pepper and mix well to combine. Spread all over the dinner roll knots while they are still warm so the butter can melt and seep into the bread. Serve immediately
You can skip adding the butter right away if you don’t want all the dinner rolls to be the same flavor. You can do the same spread with basil instead of parsley or adjust the garlic flavor to your liking. Serve the herb and garlic butter on the side.
