How Much Does a Disney Wedding Cost?

There’s nothing quite as magical as your wedding day, except maybe getting married in the most magical place on Earth. If you’ve ever dreamed of a real “happily ever after,” you may be wondering what it would cost for a fairy tale wedding at Disney World.

Weddings at Walt Disney World (FL) start at $7,500, and $10,000 at Disneyland (CA). Depending on the venue and date, minimums may be up to $50,000. Disney wedding experts can handle catering, flowers, and decor with food and beverage service ranging from $140 to $210 per guest plus tax and gratuity.

How Much Does a Disney Wedding Really Cost?

Having a fairy tale wedding doesn’t come cheap. You won’t find a wedding venue at Disney for under $7,500, but the true cost for the whole package will end up being much more than that. The price for the wedding is primarily based on the venue.

Many people envision a wedding at Disney right in front of Cinderella’s castle, which Disney offers if you’re willing and able to pay the $50k minimum. Still, there are plenty of gorgeous venues all over the Walt Disney World Resort and parks to say “I do.”

How Much is a Disney Fairytale Wedding?

A Disney Fairytale Wedding may cost up to $50,000 depending on just how magical you want the event to be.

However, not every fairytale wedding costs more than most Americans make in a year. It’s possible to host a Disney wedding for under $10,000 if you’re willing to do an early morning ceremony or get married on a weekday.

Still, most people would consider a true “fairytale” wedding to include all the bells and whistles, like riding in Cinderella’s Coach and saying “I do” in front of the castle.

The wedding that Disney calls their “real-life fairy tale” involves an exclusive after-hours ceremony in the park, right in front of the iconic castle. If you’ve never been on Disney’s Main Street after dark, it really is something special with all the lights and details.

The bride rides down Main Street, U.S.A. in Cinderella’s Coach, and is assisted out of the carriage right at the foot of Cinderella’s Castle – just like a real Disney princess.

The venue is available for both ceremonies and receptions, and can accommodate 10 to 300 guests. Plus, guests get to take in the sights and wonders of Disney’s Magic Kingdom park without all the crowds of tourists.

How Much Does it Cost to Get Married at Cinderella’s Castle?

Getting married at Cinderella’s Castle is one of the most expensive Disney weddings available. But, if you’re looking for a real life fairy tale, there’s really nothing else like it. The ceremony fee alone is $30,000 for this venue. Depending on the day and time, the event minimum could be up to $50,000.

A wedding in front of the iconic Cinderella Castle requires hosting your event after the park closes, making it all the more romantic under the night’s sky.

However, you can get married in another venue with views of the Castle and save a little money.

For example, Magic Kingdom East Plaza has a ceremony venue fee of $25,000 (compared to $30k), and the Magic Kingdom Train Station is $15,000. Both of these have the opportunity to have the Castle in the backdrop for your event.

Disney Wedding Cost with Fireworks

If you really want to go all-out for your fairytale wedding, you may want to include a fireworks show to celebrate the happy couple. Disney offers a private firework display (depending on the location), but it’s going to cost extra.

Most couples add a Disney Dessert Party with fireworks to their wedding package, and these add-ons are available at different locations around the Walt Disney World Resort.

Keep in mind that while they’re called “dessert parties,” they can be any event where food and beverages are served, like a cocktail hour or dinner with drinks.

You can host a dessert party in the park during the fireworks show at EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios. For Magic Kingdom’s fireworks, you’ll host at Disney’s Grand Floridian Marina or the Contemporary Convention Center’s Porte Cochere.

Typically, you’ll have to meet a minimum spend of $75 per person for food and beverage costs for the dessert party, plus any venue-specific minimums.

Here’s an example:

Happily Ever After Fireworks Show (located at the Contemporary)

  • $1,500 minimum or $75 per person at the West Rotunda
  • $2,500 minimum or $75 per person at Porte-Cochere
  • $1,452 for Happily Ever After soundtrack piped in for fireworks display

Disney Wedding Chapel Cost (Disney’s Wedding Pavilion)

Disney’s Wedding Pavilion is one of the most iconic and romantic venues to host a Disney wedding. It’s located right on the shores of Disney’s Seven Seas Lagoon on its own romantic private island. It’s what Disney refers to as their “premier wedding destination.”

Hosting a wedding ceremony at Disney’s Wedding Pavilion costs $6,000 just to use the venue for the ceremony. Then, you’ll have to meet an event minimum of $12,500 to $35,000 depending on the day of the week and time of day.

Having your wedding on a weekend or holiday will cost closer to the top end of the price scale, while early mornings and weekdays will be on the lower end.

The wedding chapel is located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and it can accommodate up to 250 guests.

How Much is a Disney Wedding Per Person?

In addition to the ceremony venue fee, you also need to consider the costs for food and beverages for your guests. These costs can add up quickly, and it may cause you to think twice about inviting your mom’s friend’s cousin’s sister, after all.

Food and beverage costs in Walt Disney World, Florida, range from $140 per person to $210 per person. At Disneyland California, the prices range from $145 per person to $190 per person.

The prices vary depending on whether you’re serving brunch, lunch, or dinner. It may include pre-reception food and beverages (like a cocktail hour), cake service, or bar service. Depending on the day and time of your event, there could be a per person minimum that you’ll be required to meet.

Venues offer plated menus, buffet-style menus, food stations, hosted bar services, cash bar services, dessert parties, cake service, and more.

In addition to the per person rate, you also need to budget for sales tax and gratuity.

At Disney World (FL), a 6.5% sales tax will be added to your total, along with a 25% labor and gratuity service charge.

At Disneyland (CA), you’ll pay an extra 7.75% sales tax and 23% labor and gratuity service charge.

The Bottom Line

Hosting a fairy tale wedding comes with a price tag that may feel less than magical. Still, for a couple that loves Disney, you really can’t put a value on the experience of saying “I do” in such a unique place.

Weddings are the time for photos that will last a lifetime, good times with friends and family, and excellent food. You want your guests to have a fun and memorable experience, and you want to feel like you’re living in a real-life fairy tale. Disney weddings do all those things, and more.

So, if you can find options that fit your budget, we say go for it! Plus, who wouldn’t want to get married in the happiest place on Earth? It’s the place where dreams really do come true, after all.
